AU Carbonio vs US Carbonio intake

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if the part numbers are the same for the US spec Carbonio intake as the Aus spec. obviously with the current exchange rate, it works out much cheaper to come from the states (if they deliver to Aus).

And since the US dont know what a Skoda is, which is the relevant Part number when relating to VW products? ie. which VW model/product uses the same intake as the 118TSI 1.8Turbo intake?

    Thanks for any help,

    Josh.

To my understanding, I thought there were just the two options from APR the one for a TSI and TFSI.
I dont think there is much of a difference between them in terms of size just the inlet shape differs.
I only have stage 1 (without the carbon fibre pipe), you'll have to check if there is a big difference in sizes if you opting for that option.

    Hope this helps.

there is only a difference in terms of the piping integration.

tfsi engine - notice most of the tubing is incorporated into the engine cover

tsi engine - notice the extra bit of tubing, taking it to the back of the engine and across.

Hey guys thanks for the info.

So pretty much if I order a Mk6 TSI carbonio then it will fit my 1.8 TSI. (so 1.8 and 2.0 TSI carbonio's are the same??)

Because if i order from the US site, i can get the stage I and II with all the bits shipped here for less than just the stage I from Aus.

bit of a no brainer really isn't it??

I thought APR in america wont ship to australia to keep customers going to the australian branch? Could be wrong.

I'd be careful about considering 1.8TSI the same as 2.0TSI carbonio's as no variation of the 118TSI is sold in the US (be it the 1.4 or 1.8 or as an Audi - they use the 2.0T or the 5-cyl 2.5). Double triple check before spending your hard earned .

i dont know i havent got that far to ask them yet. although i have a way around that so thats no problem.

The US website states that there is a 1.8TSI VW Carbonio intake.
and they also state that the 1.8 and 2.0TSI intake is the same.

How much are they going for in the us? I saw that they are 600+ here?
