insurance - i plan on telling them.
being a new car, i don't want to void the manufacturer/dealer warranty.
though i've heard over in skoda nz, dealers offer ecu upgrades (stg 1) with their new car sales?!?!
would b nice if the same was offered with skoda oz dealers.
I rang Allianz & yes, they do modification, it depends on what it is & the insured's history, but you can not do it on the website. No problem to do a Skoda with Stage 3, suspension, wheels, diff at all apparently (as long as they are legal mods which they are) :)Quote:

Also did you know the factory warranty on any VAG car in Australia is 2yrs, the extra year and or/unlimited kms is covered by VAG australia. And also why the extra 2 yrs extension is so pricey, for a Mazda or Honda its about $600 for 5 yr factory warranty, but VAG don't cover anything beyond 2 yrs. Shows how much faith they have in their own tech really.

My bad, I guess. I've not noticed that the factory warranty is split for the first 2 years being VAG Global and the last year being VAG Australia. Even if that is so, I can't see the difference it makes. I can understand if the first 2 years is factory backed and the last year being dealer backed. Just curious... It would be interesting to work out the difference though
Probably missed the point again, but from my experience, the extended warranties were not the same price nor length either. (Vag being more expensive)
I have noticed though, through personal experience, better support from VW and Audi (and Subaru) when the warranties are close to running out or have just run out, compared to others, like Holden, etc (Don't know about Honda/Mazda)
