    Yeah, tried that one too!

    They said that it would have had to be done when it was new and even though mine are in perfect condition, they are not right for a new car.

    My next option is to approach strangers in the street with Octavias and asking if they want to swap!

    Powder coating? It should stand up to roof racks.

    The problem is that best as I can tell, they are mostly plastic. I thought powder coating only worked on metallic surfaces.

    Just had a closer look at mine and that is correct. I think I'm just going to Plasti dip them black for now and use my wife's Sorento when we need the roof racks!

    I'll do the grille, mirrors and rear badges while I'm at it too. I'll get the wheels powder coated properly though.
