That would be because a JB1 upgrade is only a mild tune compare to a "proper" stage 1 ECU flash.
Having said that if you were concerned about your clutch then a mild tune is probably going to be safer - but then it begs the question of why you're tuning it in the first place....
Just upgrade your clutch and go stage 2+!!!!

While we're on the subject of flywheels I'm guessing mine would be a dual mass? 2008 TFSI?
2008 VRS Wagon. Yellow, very yellow!
Forever blowing bubbles.
Yes it would, I was told they go a lot, so many people made them single mass when they died but never heard of anyone having issues in Oz with them.
not sure about the clutch packs specifically, but i believe the new mk3 rs (and mk7 gti) use the same DSG DQ250 transmission, which is officially rated at 350nm. the same DQ250 is mapped slightly differently to match the Gen3 EA888 TSI engine, but its essentially the same hardware.
with the stg 2+, the Gen1 EA888 TSI engine, its pushing out approx 465nm, and 278 horses (207 kw) with the same transmission. well, that's the figures apr claims. i haven't done a dyno yet.
in addition, the dsg performance tune i got modifies the torque limiter and increases torque capacity to 450 – 500nm.
with the dsg tune, the clutch shudder is dramatically reduced. It also means a longer life of gearbox and clutch packs, less clutch slip.

I've been running stage 2 in a mk2 DSG VRS for 3 years without any problems
In rush hour traffic when crawling I don't let it modulate the clutch in 2nd, I put it in manual and select 1st
Been on the track plenty of times
I've mastered the art of accelerating just fast enough to match bogans in commodores (keeps their hopes up) and then destroy them when they change gear.
Pretty happy
