It amazes me that a country like Australia can get aassistance to other countries at the drop of a hat, but when one state suffers a refinery outage, it all becomes too hard to source supply from elsewhere in the country. I mean, surely road or rail delivers could have been made to cover the outage.
I'm heading to Bendigo next week and have been reading alarming stories about how service stations are running low on (or out of) diesel.
I suppose this allows the oil companies to gouge us just a little more. Maybe we have forgotten about the days when a holiday period was always the excuse for a refinery or transport strike.
