    Hi all,

Mine is getting fixed for this issue. I was yet to receive the second letter advising that my car is ready to be booked for the fix. It happened all of a sudden on Wed when the car wouldn't start and got a message on the MFD "ESP Fault". Looked it up in the manual but could find anything specific about it so called NRMA and the guy hooked up the computer and he got the fault code "TCM - lost communication U0101".

So had to arrange it be towed to the nearest Skoda dealer and in my case was Trivett at Parramatta. Spoke to the service guy and he confirmed that it is the issue with the mechtronics unit and needs to be replaced. He is arranging with Skoda to get authorisation to have it replaced before the second recall letter is sent out to me. Hopefully it should be fixed by early next week.

So if anyone affected by the recall and get the same error code as me you will know what the problem is.

    Cheers,
    Suhas118

My car is coming up to it's 30,000km service in around a month. I'm hoping they can do the service and the DSG fix at the same time, i'm not that close to the dealer and don't want to have to re-visit at a later date to get the DSG recall done...

Anyone tried to get it done whilst in for a service yet?

Give them a call now (gives them plenty of notice) to maximise your chances

wife's car is going great. Mine has also been done but is starting to shudder again so they are doing clutch pack AGAIN. I had them done already this year a few months back. My mate is head of warranty for Audi Australia and he said they are getting more and more dealers saying that when they do the Mechatronic they are also having to do the clutches.

they did my wife's clutches and Mecha at same time so will see how mine goes, good thing is that my new clutches are covered under parts warranty which is 2 yr unlimited KM! WIN

It seems that my recall work was delayed because the service manage from Essendon Skoda left and the information wasn't passed on to the new guy. I now have it booked in for early next month. I'm getting the clutch packs done as well, since that was agreed while my car was still under warranty.

    Recall..

Booked in for Tuesday next week, 29 Oct.
Rockdale Skoda want the car all day so hopefully that means they will replace the clutches as well as the mechatronics.

They had the car all day. As well as sorting the mechatronics gearbox issue they also replaced a camshaft component which has a separate recall number. No clutch replacement.

I had no issue with the car prior to the recall and I can't say I notice any difference after. If anything its a bit jerky from 1-2 but not bad and I suspect that's par for the course.

I picked the car up from a a salesman after the service guys had gone home so did not have a chance to ask any questions.

Oh and it's so clean you could eat your dinner off the engine.

Mine done last month after car stopped on the highway and wouldn't restart. Towed to dealer where it was fixed only to still have a shudder/judder still there. 2 weeks later I get the car back with replaced clutches and a $1300 bill for the work carried out.

On the invoice it reads, replaced clutches after premature failure. How can this not be covered under the recall?

I realise its out of warranty being a 2009, the car has only just done 50tlkms and hasn't reached its "so called first gearbox service"

Love the car, just hate the service complications with dealers.. Grr !

Is yours 7speed DSG or 6 speed?
