    2010 Octavia Tow Bar

    Hi guys,

I'm very close to trading in my 2001 Bora 4motion for a 2010 Octavia RS. My Bora has a tow bar attached, I was going to remove it before trading it in, does anyone know if it will fit the Octavia if I buy it?

No, but the load rating for towing behind the Octavia tops out at about a small empty box trailer.

I believe either petrol/diesel FWD is only rated at 1600kg (braked?).

What's the Kodiaq rated at? I have a Santa Fe that can tow a decent load with it's diesel but never got a tow pack fitted. My thoughts are to wait 3yrs and get a Kodiaq, but haven't see whether they are any better.

2010 1Z Octavia RS is rated to tow 1300kg braked. I towed at around 1300kg and it was fine.

the 1Z scout 4x4 is rated to 1600kg.

OK so similar to my Santa Fe, maybe moreso with the diesel coming.

Is that Kodiaq figure for OZ as the weight limits vary between countries. Generally the ADR's result in lower limits than overseas.

I would be very surprised if it was interchangeable. I think the Bora would be a lot narrower than the Octavia. Also There is likely a difference in the floor pan between the all wheel drive and the front wheel drive.
