Good car in manual.
The mileage is very low for the age (not necessarily a good thing IMO - machines need to be used).
It's not the cleanest car in the world even though he's had it cleaned - look at the wheels and all the rubbish around the mudguards. Rear discs look rusted out due to lack of use (Skoda really use rubbish parts in that area).
They have all the essentials but are still fairly basic compared to the other Octys. Personally, I couldn't put up with 15" rims and the lightweight front end (50mm struts and small brakes). Also the hatch is less desirable.
I'd offer $8500 and be aiming for $9500 tops. You just have to be a bit upfront and tell him that it's way overpriced in the first place.
I'd be having a real good look at the service records as most low mileage owners try and stretch the time as much as possible. There should be 5 stamps in the book & the brake fluid should have been done in 2013 & this year.
