    2009 Octavia 1.8TSI DSG problem

    My father in law's Octavia in drive or N seems to roll back like it's been pushed. Even when on a flat surface. Sometimes in Drive it creeps forward (like an auto) and other times it creeps backwards (on flat surface).eg at the traffic lights. Is this normal? My passat R36 does not do this.

    maybe that is the Hill Hold feature activating? but doesnt explain why it would roll backwards...

    Unless the Hill Hold feature also works facing down hill??? I dont know the answer to that.

    It only needs a 5% gradient to enable it - and that is not very steep at all. Maybe park your Father in Laws car in both directions and see what happens...
