    2009, Manual, Facelift RS Wagons.

    Hey all

Been searching for a 2009+ facelift Manual RS wagon, with no luck for a good 6 months now. With the introduction of the DSG are people moving away from the manual gearbox? Would love to hear peoples thoughts.

Around 80% of vehicles sold in the 2 litre class are autos. It's nothing to do with DSG the trend towards auto transmissions has been going on since the early or mid 1980's. IMO in 5 years or so you'll start seeing manufacturers no longer bothering with manuals in many classes simply because of the relatively few that they sell.
I have a facelift manual vRS (hatch) btw.

When I bought mine, I was looking for a 118 TSI manual wagon, there was none available and was going to have to be a special order. I ended up buying the vRS Wagon the dealer had. I m sure they looked at it as a black sheep, being manual. I normaly get a new car every 3 years, but may hang onto this a bit longer.

Yeah I figured it was more the trend rather than the DSG. You notice that with sports cars these days too, the R36 does not even have manual as an option anymore. If anyones selling, would love to hear from you.

I've got a manual RS wagon, albeit a 2011. I considered the DSG, but was unsure about maintenance and reliability so opted for the trusted manual. So manuals are out there, they're just not common. Keep looking and you'll find one.
