19" wheels. Any probelms fitting them? Need any modifications?

So is there any problem fitting 19" wheels to an RS wagon?
    Any modifications required?

What about if I lower it with my new Eibach springs?

    Does anything rub?

    Thanks

diameter of the wheels wont really make a different in relation to if they will fit or not
tyre size, width, offset are the factors that need to be looked at

Mine runs 19x8.5 +45 with 215/35r19..... I wanted to run 225's but with how low mine is I had to run 215's.

Tigger - the rear is more of a problem than the front

The Golf GTI guys run 19/8.5 ET35 - they pull the wheel into the strut for two reasons
To avoid rubbing (they have less clearance than us and normally run the car lower than us)
For suspension geometry - any 8.5" wide rim with a ET45 offset has added one inch all on the outside of the wheel - not good

If you are going to run 8.5" wide rims I think it's best to use an ET35 offset

Guys..... ET35 is way too aggressive for the skodas...... Mine is 8.5 ET45 on 215/35r19 and doesn't rub or scrape slammed....... And runs flush with the guards......

The golf guys told me et35 was correct but when I trialed a set of et35 rotiforms I was glad I ordered et45. As I said i spent hours of research on getting my skoda wagon right!!

TSIfan is correct here, the lower no. associated with ET, the wider, more aggressive the stance. ET35 will be 10mm wider each side than ET45.

I just checked a wheel offset calculator and now agree
ET35 is what the Golf guys run however

I still think 8.5" wheels is too wide for the Octavia
The wheels are going to poke out 20mm further than stock
(My 8" ET45 wheels poke out 13mm more than stock and are right on the edge of the guard)
I doubt Tigger is going to lower his car as much as TSIFan but I presume TSIFan had to 215mm tyres is due to the height and outer poke

    Thanks guys,
I appreciate the input very much!

The wheels are 19x8", and I am trying to confirm the offset today.
They are supposed to be for a golf MK5/6, so I am hoping they will be ET45, or as close to standard as possible.

I am going to just put 215 tyres on...to avoid any probs with going too wide. If I wasnt lowering it, then perhaps I would go 225...

What is the OEM wheel offset by the way??

Oh, 8 wide will be fine, stick with 225 for best grip available

Standard offset was something like 52
