Can't say i'd ever need a BBK. Upgraded pads, discs, lines and fluid will suit me fine. My only complaint is the rears are tiny compared to the fronts!

it is also worth noting that the mk2 rs has a bigger brake master cyclinder.
tis the same size as the ones used in the Audi S3 and Golf R.
the mk6 GTi, strangely, has a smaller one.

Ambition measured without removing wheels looked like 285 mm front and 250 mm rear.

There have been a few complaints that the brakes on the lower models are a bit under done. I would do pads first and see how they go.

So the 288mm front, 253mm rear combo.

Weird considering the front caliper piston is same size on RS & the "bigger engined" shopping trolleys. Maybe there's a difference in rear piston size or they were after a different pedal feel?

I don't know about the anti nose dive trick, but it would make some sense... I never used to notice nose dive in my Mk2 vRS with stock brakes (312x25 front; 272x12 rear) but with the R32's (345x32; 310x22) I most certainly do!... Also the front tyres seem to be wearing a lot faster.

I find it interesting the Mk3 Octy comes with GTI PP brakes from stock.
Much difference between GTI PP and 7R?

Just the front PP brakes I believe, not the rears.

I believe the GTI PP and R share the same brakes. Though on the Mk3 RS i think the rears are smaller than those on a GTI.
