Hi everyone.
I'm new to the forum, but not to VW. I've had several air cooled Beetles over the years, and am in the middle of restoring a 74 L bug at the moment. I got to the point where I needed a second car, so that I could take the bug off the road for a week or so to complete bigger jobs without worrying about how I was going to get to work. So I looked around and test drove a few cars, and finally settled on the current version of The Beetle.
I see this turning into me now having two cars to work on, as a list of things to do has already populated itself for the new one... whoops...
As the waiting list for manual was... well... let's just say a really long time. I opted for a base model without any add-on packs. There was a black one waiting to go to a home, so it became mine.
Here are a couple of pictures for you all.
And here are a couple with my 74
And this was the other day at the shops. This is one of two red Beetles that I've seen. Apart from mine, they are the only two I've seen on the road so far. It's possible they were one and the same though as I didn't see the license plate of the other one.
All I need now is a "New Beetle" (2000s era) to complete the set
