Cheers guys Its just your standard FN 1.6 engine. The motor had been rebuilt a little while back and it still has strong compression. When I had bought the webers they were set up for a 1.6 engine. Similar jets, chokes etc set up for the 1600 crossflow Cortinas. So I thought I would set the webers up the 1.6 purely for fun and curiosity. At the moment they are running lean and in need of a fine tune but it still goes fairly well

Will be getting a mk3 1.8 latter down the track though.

Thanks mate still a while to go for what I have in mind. Was planning on getting a nice retro steering wheel this week but my damn battery is so knackered and barely holds a charge, It struggles to start up those webers.

So little up date: new battery tomorrow haha

Never get tired of that induction noise. I think I have only turned on the radio once since I fitted them. And then it only lasted 5 min till I turned it off because I missed the noise of the webers haha.

More updates to come shortly. My inspiration for this project has now turned to the rally/race Escort mk2's of the 70's and 80's. So im anxious as to how this is going to turn out.

Cheers for the comments guys. Appreciate it

Well things have been slowed down a little with the old girl. Did Get some nice BMW 14" BBS wheels from Intensem1 a little while back and couldnt be happier with them. I have been umming and arring about what type of wheels to get but these came up for sale and just had to have them. No tires yet though. Still deciding what size I want to go with...

Decided to pull the carpet up to inspect the rust damage. I had noticed wet passenger side carpet. And yep, the sound proofing material was soaked. I have no doubt there would of been 2-3 liters of water held in there so in the bin it went. Rust is only surface so will be getting treated as soon as possible. For now (without the carpet or the back seat in) it has a real 70's race feel, which I am really liking. Recently also purchased some Escort Mk2 quarter bumpers to adapt to the Passat and see how this 70's inspired track car turns out

Engine bay still messy but its slowly on its way. Twin webers still burble and roar
