    Tough choice!
Agree there mate tough choice so much to say about each , im a massive forced induction fan but cant agree more about the narrow angle v6 note, im like a big kid in my passat. Bora is a tough car and great engine, great potential for great looks, there is a few crackers around. No doubt about the S3 either though great gains for less coin.
Yep tough choice, however you have a mK4 Gti, made tough and great engine too with endless potential. Im also a huge fan of Mk4 gti so could go Mk4 R32? tough mk4 with awd and the engine note to boot.
Good luck with the choice mate

Iv got a 4mo bora. I love it i did have a rexxy before but even tho a 2.0 t is fun i still prefer the bora. An s3 can be made to look sexy but to me a bora looks and sound better especially when its got a bowser bonnet bog rims and lowered.

But really, If you put the price difference between the Bora v6 and R32 into the Bora, it will be nicer all round, and they look nicer too imo.

Oh and i'm still happy to be your old parts receptacle. Send them all my way

I know the bora is much heavier than a mk3, but I get 550km~ a tank.

I used to get pretty reasonable economy with my 4motion, but i figured that i could live with slightly higher fuel economy to be able to listen to the soundtrack every day! The soundtrack is what set my mind in concrete about the car

I'm actualy looking at buying a Bora as the main family car so I'll be keeping the GTI.
I've test driven a few now and think the Bora is a great car. Brilliant accomodation.
One VR6 I drove was lowered and had an X force rear section/cat back(not sure) and sounded awsome, but seemed to be missing alot of bottom end torque. Still drove wonderfully.
I drove it in the wet, and I can honestly say(sorry 4 motion owners) that I didn't feel any advantage.
On the same bit of road my GTI didn't feel disadvantaged at all, but I have mine well set up in terms of suspension and brakes(but so did he)
The GTI offers more driveable torque, but if you need that awsome VR6 roar then go for it.
VR6 will be dearer to service and run also.

So to your question, "Would I regret selling my car for a vr6?"
    Yes, yes you would.

Even if you did buy a Bora, you'll be happy, but if you love your GTI then stick with it.
