Nope, just the one button which turns on the light.
then no u dont have central locking and cant do this
Ok thanks. Are there any after market solutions that anyone could recommend?
what year golf/bora do you have?
What’s behind you doesn’t matter..
Golf, 03 SE.
Guys, I don't mean to sound ungrateful but if you read my original post, #8 just up there, everything I want to know and all my information is laid out there.
I don't have a remote transponder key. I want to know if that was an optional extra or standard on the Golf 03 SE. If it's standard, then the loser who owned my car before me has lost it and replaced it with a dumb key. (cheaper option)
If it was not standard, that means that more than likely my car hasn't got a remote locking system. However, I'd still like to find out if there's a way I can prove it. I don't consider the type of key I have to be definitive proof. Anything could have happened under previous ownership, and proof of that is shown by the fact that my boot is keyed differently! Deifinitely something dodgy going on there.
Sorry if I didn't make myself clear earlier, I look forward to some enlightenment on my situation. The missus it bitching that she has to turn a key to get into a 2003 European car, and I can't say I blame her!
Cheers,
Sherwy.
Sherwy, i read what you said i was asking you clearly exactly what.
If you have a 02+ you have the flipkey as an option. He may of lost or broken or damaged the previous keys. A replacement coded/programmed from vw is close to $600 almost i think still these days hence he probably took the cheaper option or got it done elsewhere or for half the price of the keyfob.
Your key looks like so
(with or without the logo correct?)
You can get this key
internal
and the second part
So what you can do is, inside your KEY has a transponder chip (probably easiest thing to call ti for you)
If you get a new BLADE for the flip key cut, get a pair of tweezers, take out your transponder chip move it to the new flip key. Get the second part of the key and program it to your car to unlock and lock you will then have least 1 flipkey for substancially less then what you would pay from a dealer.
Does that make sense?
So YES you can get a flip key.
What’s behind you doesn’t matter..
