can you buy the plastic slides for the power
widows ??

trying to fix bro inlaws mk4 elec window
reg ok but has broken one of the plastic pieces that the
cables go in and that hold the window

are they a part you can get from vw??

Also just be aware, I believe there is a plastic regulator replacement kit like the one you have that has broken and a newer metal one designed to permanently fix this problem.

When I first met my neighbour from across the road who had by then owned a MK4 for about 5 years, he told me the local dealer had replaced his several times over the years obviously using the plastic kits until he (my neighbour) found out about the newer metal kit and insisted that they use that one.

Yes upgrade kits are Metal and VW geniuses have fitted plastic back in the MK5 Go figure!!!!!!

about 100 odd dollars from memory,,but mate,,those cables gave me the *****!!!!!

took a few hours,but I managed to get it right!

Yeah they do give u the heebies but man just put wee scribe marks on the door card. Man when you have done hundreds they do get better!!!!! but hey why on earth apart from makin money would VW put the same bloody things on the MK5??????? at least you dont need to strip the door down though. Mk 5 the skin comes off!!!!!!!! great idea!!
