Well they may be the VicRoads regulations for P platers, the Queensland Transport rules are very similar but differ slightly.
Like Victoria, Red P platers are restricted in the following ways:
-No peer passengers between 11pm and 5am.
-Vehicle power restrictions:
No vehicle over 200kw
No turbo or supercharged engines (other than turbo engines)
No V8s or more
No rotary engine more than 1.3.
-No mobile phone. AT ALL!
And you get 4 points.

Green P Platers:
All of the above but the stupid mobile phone rule and the peer passenger rules are exempt.

And NO! We AREN'T restricted to certain speed limits! What's in the red ring, we go.

Oh and on a Bora related note, the Transport Department are convinced that my V5 Bora is turbo charged, i've been pulled over twice and questioned once while in a car park! Mighty sick of that happening.

im on my red p's and good behaviour all due to my imaturity :(

but on the plus side im learning :)

us older guys had it easy. In 1987, I had just finished my 1 year on P's ready to go onto the last 2 year of probabtionary licence(without displaying P's) and they changed the rules in Victoria...thus I went straight onto a full licence after 12months !!!:nana:

I got my P's in 94' by doing a driving test in an auto. Back then this only restricted you to driving an auto while you were on your p's and then you were able to drive a manual once you came off them... Yes, i know....it was the easy way out :-)

I quite enjoy driving a manual 2002 red GTI now!

I'm keen to get a mk1 or mk2 gti as a hobby car at some stage though.

I got my licence in Canberra before they had P's. So it was L's at 16 and 9 months, then full licence when i reached 17 :eek:

It's OK - I had some on the road training in Sydney for a few years, which gave me some "real" road experience. :biggrin:

I'm on my Greens atm, still have one year left of them. I was wedged between the 05' turbo/supercharger restrictions and the new curfew/passenger laws.

To be honest, this hasn't particularly bothered me as didn't have the money at the time of the purchase of my car to buy a turbo'd motor anyway. I think the curfew thing is a bit extreme to be honest, unless your going out to really high exposure areas I can't see most red P'ers wouldn't just take them off and wear a beanie or something and go driving. There really are very few police in certain areas after 10pm.

Since the title of the thread has changed I would like to point out that I'm not actually on my P plates.
Hate to think what my insurance would be if I was. :eek:
Oh yeah I never had to display the plates either. :biggrin:
