where to get my Bora 4Motion serviced around Brunswick?

    Hi All,

    New to the forum...

I have just started looking around for somewhere to get my Bora 4Motion (2001) serviced close to Brunswick in Melbourne. Anyone have any recommendations?

I have read a bit about "the Garage" on this site... any good.

I have (stupidly) been taking it to the dealer up until now but not sure I can justify the cost any more....

    Would appreciate any recommendations.

    Thanks

    J

I'm not from Melbourne, but you might want to read this:
Recommended VW Service centres in Melbourne - VW GTI Forum / VW Rabbit Forum / VW R32 Forum / VW Golf Forum - Golfmkv.com

Also, make sure that wherever you take it (I'm hoping VW/Audi place), get them to check the haldex oil is OK. Cannot stress this enough for Bora 4motion owners. You leave it too late and you'll wish you hadn't.

another quick search showed people happy with:
Boris @ Volkscare in Boronia; or
    Dean @ Volkspower in Burwood

Best places to go would be Volkspower in Burwood (as stated previously) or Audvolks in Clayton. Even though Audvolks isn't too close James looks after you with a courtesy car, although you have to book ages in advance for any kind of work at his garage.. So actually I don't recommend him as he's way too busy!

Another alternative is to just do it yourself! It's more fulfilling and you make sure the job's done right, not done by some apprentice at a workshop.. This is if you intend on keeping the car for a long time and log book stamps don't mean the world to you (I keep receipts for everything which I reckon is pretty much the same proof as a log book stamp).
