Sounds like a vacuum hose could be leaking or has come off ? Does it change in any way when you give it revs ? It's a bit hard to determine from the video, you really need to get your head in under the bonnet to hear it properly.

Yeh, It's never easy to determine exactly where the noise is coming from, but it's a bit like a ticking/Scratching...

I noticed it the other night when I was coming home. It did seem to fluctuate with Rev's, mostly around 2500, I thought it might be from the variable intake rod but I believe they changed that from the MK3 VR6.

It's not a plug lead arcing is it ? Easiest way is to have a look when it's dark and see if there's any sparking anywhere

It's not your waterpump is it? Assuming that this is my waterpump it sometimes makes a loud ticking noise and you can feel the top of it (circled) ticking away. However it would seem that yours is coming from elsewhere. Just a thought. Jimmy and/or Matt should be able to help you out pretty quick smart I would imagine.

Trezza, I believe that has to do with your brakes, your water pump is located on the block and is linked in with your timing belt/chain

From my experience, ticking is a noise associated with valves or sticky injectors. Try and get your injectors cleaned (not with that crap in the bottle, properly ultrasonically cleaned) then see what happens.
