Earlier this week completed my retrofit of heated seats by installing the loom and the switches - toasty(!) - plus I get more cool lights to look at! (Downside is my girlfriend wants me to convert her work chair)

I didn't really take a lot of detailed pics, but the switches and loom came from ebay.co.uk - if you do a search for heated seat loom mk4 Golf or similar it will come up with some options (Appeared to be a LHD loom but works for RHD if you reverse the wires going to the controls - makes me think it probably came from Kufatec.de). They supply a detailed instruction manual so it's just a case of working out where the wires go and managing to extract some of the old ones from the connectors to splice into (that is tricky!) ... You have to check that your seats have the green plugs on the underside as that indicates the heating elements are in place in the seats to begin with and is what the loom connectors plug into - can post up some pics of plugs etc. if people are interested. (You can also buy a complete kit to add heating elements to standard seats, but that involves removing covers) I was fortunate that the GTI seats I bought last year had the green connectors in place so it was just a matter of grabbing the loom and the switches.

This is what the loom looks like:

Need opinions. Better? Tacky? Improvement? Crap? Note it was just a quick test hence crappy outsides

my driver's door grip is getting a bit cracked too, I think I prefer the contrast on the grip though so maybe a silver (R look?) rather than a black finish. might look different on mine though as i have fabric not leather.

Yeh, other things to spend that on first Some of the other photos in the album make it look more grey/silver that those two you posted - might just be the light. You only bought the 1 roll didn't you?
