18x8et24 is perfect up front on a mk4, then make the back 8et19 with some 205/40 all around for maximum win
nar leave the front and lower the back a inch, still plenty of rake and a sit nice
225/40 isnt stretched. its a straight side wall... anything below a 205/40 on a 8 is stretch... and lows is tucking all round on standard size tyres for a mk4
anyone have a problem with the standard 4mo 16" tyres screeching under even half arsed cornering? mine are so noisy, people must think im a hoon
Gonna learn to drive with them for a bit first, don't really want to break anything driving like I used too. Waiting for some other wheel opportunities before I go too low. Painting my wheels either gloss white or gunmetal grey, have a few days of rain to decide what I want, but am very open for imput.
I'd leave them as they are, IMO not the kind of wheel that will look good painted.
In any case, the wheels were curbed badly enough (by the PO ) for it to be embarrasing to look at. So i might have to pick up some silver. I have plenty of time on my hands right now so they can be done and redone whenever so maybe its a case of trial and error.
noticed that my car appears to have now developed the warm stall issue affecting 24v vr6 (though baffled as to why it suddenly decides to rear its head now...) and also that my auto-dimming rear view mirror has now decided to pack it in. cars....
