I am usually a purist when it comes to lights. People with altezza lights should be sent to prison and angel eyes are for BMWs and angels only, but I think one of the Australian Bora's weak points is the all red tail lights.

Built a "polishing pad for the Bora Headlights today... 50mm washer with a bolt through it for the drill, and 15mm high density foam for the pad...
Spent about 45mins polishing the left hand headlight some more... Coming along nicely... About 80% done on the left now... My home made buffing pad is working nicely... Cordless drill is not so happy... lol.

I think it depends on the person and what cars they hate. The reason I don't like anything but all red is because I associate the smoked ones with my mate's body-kitted Lancer, and the alternating red/silver with Mercs (which is my least favourite German make). But if you don't have a mate with those smoked lights on his rice burner your brain won't be scarred like mine.
There are so many different tailight for the Bora's... All look good in some circumstances, but few look good on all cars.
Personally I like the Smoked Red / White / Red / White lights on the black bora's...
Oh yeah, another 40mins spent polishing the damn headlights...

did you sand them also?
Replaced my r1 with a 710n, car feels much stronger and more responsive but the psssh is not as loud can believe the r1 lasted only a year before it started leaking.
Saw your how too, but, couldn't find my sand paper, and I figured that they weren't too bad...
The left was definately worse than the right... Spent about 1.5hours carefully polishing the right and only .5 hours on the left...
Still not perfect, so will probably need to pick up some 2000 grit, sand lightly and then re-polish.
Also looks like someone has spilt fuel on them as they are 'wrinkly'... lol.
Also, Washed / Waxed the Bora Today... Damn my arm is sore...
Apart from the 5000 stone chips, and the tree sap marks, she's a mirror finish...
