    I can answer that one - 312mm fronts off a Bora V6 4Motion.

How are 312mm as an upgrade? Do they make that much difference, I would have thought 330mm would be the way to go?

Depends what you're trying to achieve, and under what wheels.

The 312mm brakes fit under 16" wheels, whereas the 334mm R32 brakes will not (they require 17" wheels at a minimum, with appropriate offset and clearance behind them for the calipers.

There are advantages to going bigger (slightly more stopping power due to mechanical advantage, better ability to cope with repeated stops which generate more heat) and disadvantages (extra unsprung mass, higher rotational inertia affecting acceleration and braking, the "gyro" effect and how that impacts on steering), etc, and for a lot of people the disadvantages probably outweigh the advantages. You can often get a better improvement in braking my moving to better quality pads/rotors/fluid and sticking with the stock sized components.

All that said, I have the 334mm R32 brakes on my Bora - which replaced the 312mm stock brakes which gavs now has, but the upgrade was appropriate for me given my goals (I want to start tracking my car at least semi-regularly, and I'll benefit from the ability of the R32 brakes to take more punishment before they start fading).

312mm makes a significant difference to the braking. Having to fit 16 inch wheels to go with them though, detracts from the performance of a std GTI/A3 turbo enough for it not to be worth the money.

Installed my APR R1 DV (Thanks Costa!)

I knew the car was losing power and suspected this to be the culprit. Also replaced the vac hose.

    It's like a new car!!!!!
