Had a service done, had my sway bar installed on the tight setting as it doesnt fit on the outer holes without hitting the lower control arms
Wound my front coilovers down to legal. Still got about 60mm of thread left
went to do the rears but the coil is somewhat stuck to the adjustable nut it sits on, so they will have to wait for when i have some free time to undo the shock and let the pressure of the spring some more.
Other then that my cars been in the carport as i have a company car for the next month and dont get to drive much else where between two jobs

Does it still hit with the suspension loaded up? Some swaybars are easier to install when the car is sitting at ride height. So either installed on ramps or a 4 post hoist. If thats the case its not really a problem unless you plan on getting your car airborn.

Anyways, am I right in predicting that a scan of the golf might tell me I have a dud coilpack? Otherwise, i might be lucky and it could be just one of my plugs giving up?

Don't expect anything from a scan mate. Pull the coil packs one at a time and see which one it is.

Don't immediately change the coil pack unless you have one handy. Certainly don't buy one. I have 4 known good ones at home here.

My money is on the ignition amp in the airbox. Holein1 had the same symptoms, 500 plus bucks from the dealer for one!!!

    I had one for him.

    Try Golfloon.

Finally fit my Caliper kits in today ... big shout out to Seb for his assitance with the install. Also took the opportunity to chamfer/scrub the pads to stop the squealing.

After a few kms, I noticed an immediate improvement on the brake response.. especially on the M4 when I was able to test the brakes at 100kph, fantastic!

I had someone install it for me so i didnt see it, he did it on a hoist so the car was at ride height. apparently it hits at ride height on the outside holes, but just clears on the tighter setting. Also said it was only happening on the drivers side if that makes a difference

Just levelled and lowered the front suspension out some more. Figured out why i couldn't adjust one of the rears, after pulling the whole lot out found the end of the spring has been digging into the adjusting mount. took a few mm off with the grinder and all good. havnt wound them all the way down but its already tucking rears and with a little normal forward rake. and its all working. YAY!

Cant find my camera so will take some pics during the week.

Now just waiting on my 9" wide BBS to arrive

yeah, my mechanic seemed to think the bar must be bent more on one side then the other etc. doesnt make any noise at the moment. just have to leave it on the firmer setting i guess
