What have you done to your mk4 (golf/bora) today?

I've loved the Bridgestone Adrenalins on my GTI. They are very grippy, even did a hillclimb on them, and handle very well in the wet too.

I don't really notice any noise from them, and as far as wearing goes, they probably won't last as long as my previous tyres but i guess you get that with softer compounds...They have a tyre wear rating of 220. The tyres currently on my e30 (Kumho Ecsta Supras) have a wear rating of 345 and ironically i wish they'd wear out much quicker, because they are useless...Good for drifting on roundabouts but that's about it.

They seem to be good value for money compared to other performance tyres too, especially in smaller sizes. I paid $220 per tyre for 215/45/r17's.

I decided to fit the Kumho KU-31's after hearing a lot of praise for them from some other local guys. I didn't really expect much but I was very pleasantly surprised with performance in wet and dry, wear and noise, they are a very good tyre.

For $180 or so per tyre (18") they would have to be sweet spot where performance meets value for money. Somehow, the performance of the KU-31 is WAY more than you expect to get for that kind of money.

they've lasted me longer then p-zeros.. defintely one of the better tyres ive used over the years.. (and i was going through a set a month when i had a rwd lol) depends how you drive, me... everywhere is a racetrack unfortunately!

you will find michelin, pirelli and toyo's all very soft unfortunately.. but the handling/performance is crazy

I using Michelin pilot sport supremacy atm, previous Pirelli P7.
The Michelin are a LOT quieter and grip better, harder wall as well.
I run 225s on the standard 16inch rims, so I need the extra wall strength.
I just wish I could get more than 20K from a set.

Pirellis come in a variety of variants - they have some competitive tyres in the $200 to $300 price range. To say Pirellis are expensive is like saying Bridgestones are expensive - it's a hard call, because their ranges are so wide.

The Kumho KU31s do have a good reputation as a daily road use tyre. The KU36s are also meant to be pretty good, but they're a significantly softer, stickier tyre that will wear pretty quickly (especially if you give the car a bit). I'm seriously consideirng the KU36s as a dip-the-toe-in-the-water track tyre (they're almost a semi-slick), simply because they're around half the price of some of the other semi-slick options.
