Washed the car again. Hopefully it can not drizzle again this week and make all the dust on my car into a lovely coating of grime..

Also got 502kms out of the tank. First time I've ever driven that far. Still could have gotten another 20kms out of the tank as well!

    Cheers,
    Trent

Stiffened up my rear sway bar again, car was feeling too soft on it's second softest setting..... It's amazing how you get used to a certain setting and how good it feels

Got the car home in one piece from the Australian Tarmac Challenge

The only issue all week was the Monit Rally Computer stopped working around 50K from arriving back home, think we dropped the sensor or something on the axle but it should be an easy fix.

Huge thank you to Manaz and JVL for all your help in Sydney and Coffs Harbour, it was fantastic to meet you guys and we really appreciate the kindness, generosity and hospitality you guys showed to both of us.

We had an absolute blast on the event although I need to sort out some issues with my rear suspension before our next event which we are planning to be Mt Buller Sprint in December.

We also met Dave from Ambulance Private Tasmania who was on the coast to watch the WRC and runs a MKIV R32 in Showroom class in Targa and other events down there and is another great guy with some brilliant info on running rallies in Tassie.

After chatting with him this morning about the events down there and our car he kindly offered to let us use his service crew and workshop facilities so we have decided to enter the car in Targa Wrestpoint, Rally Tas and if the budget will stretch that far Targa Tasmania with the fist event starting in January 2010.

I will post some photos and video once they get them up on the site, I'm not very happy with my results but hopefully it was due to an issue with the linear springs in the car and not my driving as my best result was on a 5th outright and 5th in class n the Raymond Terrace Hillclimb.

I do have to say that Ian Cudmore and his co driver Nick in the MKV R32 were flying and were in 2nd outright in Club and teams overall until Ian had a problem with his car at Grafton Hillclimb, they were regularly handing me my arse on the different stages and Nick had an incredible first in class and first outright at the Coffs Harbour special stage.

Highlight of the week was definitely running the WRC super special stage on Saturday night, we were the only cars that ran the actual course the WRC cars did and we were the last group of cars on before the WRC cars, dumb luck put me at the front of the cue so I was first onto the stage and it was a HUGE buzz to run the stage with an estimated 7000 spectators watching.

I would highly recommend anyone who is interested to do one of the Australian Tarmac Rallies, you don't need a cage or even R rated tyres, you can run in stock class with just a helmet, fire extinguisher and long sleeved shirt. The next event is in WA and then they are having a one day event at Lang Lang proving ground in Melbourne which sounds like it will be fantastic so get onto the website and get your entries in.

    Cheers Al

I've got a feeling it might be possible to turn the one touch function on/off by holding the button fully up or down for 3 seconds? Just something in the back of my mind...never really stopped to work it out with mine, but some times it doesn't seem to work. I just end up holding the button down to open the window anyway and it seems to come back.

My dash cluster doesn't light up either very occassionally. Stop & restart has always fixed it for me.

Congrats Al, sounds like it was still a good weekend for you! Just looking over those pic, I'd forgotten you have the same wheels as me! Maybe one day I'll get to race it too...

Thanks mate, much appreciated, we had a blast though I need to sort out whats up with the rear squat / wallowing with the car.

I have had the wheels since early 04 just after I got the car, picked up 6 of them so I have two spares as the R spec tyres are directional. Great wheel and significantly lighter than the stock Aristos that came with the car.

I cannot remember for the life of me where I read it, it may have even been in the owners manual, but after battery disconnections or window control module diconnections, there is a method of re-setting this function, from memory it involves a procedure with the key being turned and held in a position in the driver's door lock..... If only I could remember where I read it!!!
