Cleaned it, took the son in it for the first time!i would be installing a r32 steering wheel which i paid for two weeks ago but due to stalling and waiting was dropped off at depot 23rd and i wont see it until the new year :/
Today I cleaned my throttle body and MAF, also put new spark plugs in too. The old ones were for starters the wrong spark plugs, and burnt out and disgusting. After taking her for a test drive its like owning a new car again, she pulls a lot harder and idles much smoother too, I'm super happy![]()
I didn't realise that reservoir is mustard/brown due to the coolant! So clean and pretty in white!
Where did you get it from and how much was it?
With 200,000kms on the clock, it's only a matter of time before more parts of the cooling system go kaput so might as well replace it all at once.
So far I've only found cooling parts on ecstuning.com - anywhere else I can get them from online/IRL other than VW or local auto stores?

Bought the tank off traedayz forum member. You can buy them off ecs or eBay might have them.
It's worth getting a price from the dealers as the replacement hose I bought was about $20 cheaper than ecs.
I got a white tank from the wreckers cheap always worth a quick look at your local one.
Replaced the non genuine valve cover gasket with a genuine one from vw now no more leaks the one I got from ecs leaked from the half round seal.
Did the plugs while I was at it.

Successful day on the Bora but I really hate volkswagen right now.
Who in their right mind thought using plastic to run water from the washer reservoir to the jets was a good idea?
I found out why my washer jets never sprayed out any water - the entire line was incredibly brittle and cracked in a million places.
It's now been replaced with rubber hosing that i've cut my arms up trying to reroute under the guard into the bonnet.
That being said it works a charm. Nice to be able to clean my windscreen again.
Also had to fork out a nice $220 for a 50cm plastic PCV hose. What a rip! Would've cost the same from ECS when you consider delivery. Necessary evil and at least my interior won't smell like an old used jerry can.

In more positive news - lovely weather in Melb today! Looks like I got my first summer sun burn!

I found out about the plastic hose a few weeks ago.
I bought a MK4 golf that had a little hit in the front and needed a bonnet straight away.
So I get to work and order one first thing in the morning so I will get it that afternoon.
Bonnet showed up, I go to remove the dented one at work before driving it home and
first thing I do is remove the squirters and bang, the pipes just snapped.
Just made some out of rubber tube off another car.
Piss poor setup.
