Yeh silicone is expensive. My kit is 2.5" piping but 2" inlets. Obviously to make the intercooler fit properly.

Makes it DBW so you can flip the intake manifold and not worry about orientation of throttle cables.

    Many other benefits aswell.

It's the cheapest I could find them.

150,000 on the same strut tops? I could only imagine how stuffed they are. Mine had compressed 1cm over the duration of 30,000km.
    Cool. I'll get onto it.
Yeah my first set had done less km and compressed a good cm+. These 32 ones seem to last longer, not sure if that's because of lighter car on firmer bushes or what. Last time I swapped them on to stock struts they had barely compressed. Just starting to get a few noises in the last month or so.

Considering my front mount actually fits behind the front rebar without trimming it and it was a pain to fit the bumper. All I can say is have fun fitting your bumper. What have you done to your mk4 (golf/bora) today? Muwahaha
thats what im talking about-fitting wasnt that bad=grinder

The inlets on the intercooler are 2.5inch too, so its 2.5 inch all the way thru which was handy to not have to have reducers or anything. The intercooler is a CX Racing mustang intercooler that Gav recommended years ago that I just decided to put on recently. The piping didnt come with it, i just bought some pieces off ebay and cut them to size. The silicon is just from Supercheap and I cant believe how expensive that stuff is. $70 for what would be about 60cm all up.

the me7 ecu gives you longevity in modding the car..only so much the POS ecu can do
-and stage 1.2.3 flash tuning-CC/gavin-nice guy-second to none service-knows his stuff..

regardless, for 'me'-ive a older skool mindset to all this new jib..
..me7 can be tuned by any knowledgable tuner-not some top dude you send the ecu off that slaps a file from a big company from OS taking away the physical relationship between man/mechanic and machine -no homo- stuff that i have for ever been accustomed to in my passion for speed

grill all you like, give two fks..my opinion!

I've been hearing mixed things on pod filters? I have a mk4 gti. I personally think the sound they produce is awesome especially with a turbo car. Thoughts, is it worthy as a first mod?

No it's a useless first mod, and debatable if it should ever be changed from the stock box. Especially on the AGU because the air filter box houses the ICM.

Please refer to the rtech guide for tuning. 1.8T Tuning Stage 1 Guide | R-Tech Performance

What sort of money are you looking at for the ECU mod?

Mate you weren't wrong about the trouble geting the bumper back on. My god what a nightmare. I had to remove the bottom part of the bumper just so I could force the top part on. Even now the bottom of the top bumper is sticking out about 2 inches past where it should.

Anyone know if any of the aftermarket bumpers have more room behind them?

Costs depends on how much you get all the parts required for the job. Its quite a list of parts. Its detailed in Litos thread.

The front bumper is just rubbish. The r32 front bumper will give you more room, but you need to buy it, paint it, fit it, hope it fits well since some aftermarket ones are not 100%, and then hack it up to fit your front mount.

It took me so long to decide on which kit to buy because of this very problem, I think I end up spending $1000 after fixing up all the stuff ups and I am still not satisfied with the end result.

Speaking of bumpers, I don't particularly want to put another rear bumper on my GTI as I just had it replaced. But there's no where for the exhaust to come out from, do I need to get it cut?
