Took the R32 to T&D in Brisbane the local Porsche and VAG gurus and had the following done by a thoroughly professional and nice bunch of blokes for a lot less than it would have cost anywhere else I think.
- Remove bottom rear spring perches that weren't supposed to be left there when the KW motorsport linear springs were installed, car no longer sags down on acceleration as the springs are working properly now.
- Reset rear ride height to the correct height after removing perches
- Reset and adjusted front and rear bump and rebound settings to those provided by KW motorsport in Germany
- Fabricated aluminium bracket to replace broken plastic arm from headlight auto levelling gizmo that is attached to the rear left control arm.
- Insulated the horn wires with heat shrink in the Sparco steering wheel as they were firing off the horn once in awhile due to wear.
Dropped the car into them at 8AM went back at 11AM and went through and did all the coilover settings with them while it was on the hoist for another hour....
for a Grand total for 4 hours labour and a lovely bit of aluminium fabrication of $75.00
As a bonus Don has invited me to have a drive of his second shifter Kart. I'm going out to their next race meeting at the QR national circuit in November and then the race will be when I get back from Buller in December
An example of the lap times these things do he showed me laptimes of 1 minute 5 seconds around LakesideShould be an absolute blast and i can't wait.
Cheers Al
I was going to go the KU31's but got talked into the Toyo Proxes4 - apparently harder wearing than the KU31, but still reasonably soft and a good aggressive tread pattern. Same price as the KU31, but about $100 more than your $150 budget. I'm getting mine fitted tomorrow![]()
Good to hear you got the spring issue sorted. What exactly was impact of having perches installed on the springs to cause the squat?
That's one damn quick little kart. To do that kind of lap time in something that low and exposed would be scary as hell. Lots of fun though...
Cheers,
Trent

A rubber perch was left in under the new linear springs in the rear, the effect was two fold, the rubber was compressing under acceleration not allowing the spring to work properly with its helper spring and making it softer than it should be by compressing the rubber and the rubber perch didn't allow the spring to be in it's proper alignment which also stopped it from working properly. It is like night and day how stiff it is by removing the perch, these are 140NM 100 springs and aren't soft but the effect of having the rubber in there was like making the spring softer than the stock ones.
Cheers Al

guys with the ecs dogbone mount complete the black powdercoated one on their site I bought it, but when i took mine off i find my smaller bushing the little round one is alot harder then the ecs one, but the bigger bushes ecs ones are seem to be heaps harder . on the oem dogbone there are lettering
m,n,p,r and on mine its the letter p is got a mark on it with ecs one the mark is on the letter m ,so i used my oem dogbone with its little bush and ecs 2 big bushes . the hard part was puttung the 2 big bushes back in and getting the bolt to grab the nut ,whut i did was to put the 2 bushes with their end bits in the vise squashed them much as i can without bustting the bushes and left it for about ten minutes before you pull it out the wise mke sure you got your cast bit ready and nut in there (squeeze abit of papaer or somthing behinde the nut so dont keep falling out while you try to get the bolt to grip)also you worked out wich way it got to go on dont put it in the wrong way around or you have to do the vise process againg antway
wtf this turned out to be a diy thread . sorry guys but with the ecs has anyone done the same or did i have to specify that i wanted hard bushes when i ordered
