    hi manaz

mate its done in mild steel, stainless you could at least add another $200 to the cost. Its really personal preference, stainless will last the life of the car where mild you will get 10 years out of it, plus in my opinion mild steel gives a nice deeper burble sound where stainless gives you a more raspy tinny sound , thats the best way i can put in in words.

plus think about how long you plan on keeping the car, i update my cars every 3 to 5 years so it will last as long as i own the car. plus we live in a fairly dry climate mate unlike europe who go through snow winters and salted roads which rots mild steel quick, so i do not see the need for an expensive stainless system here in oz.

also be aware that the cheaper stainless mufflers have mild steel baffling innards which give way also , you can tell by slapping your muffler with your hand if it rattles its innards are gone even though they look good on the outside, the stock bora muffler has this type of construction also.

which rear valance do you have the stock bora one?

just go through different pictures on the net of boras as see what set up you like and go for it bro...

    cheers Ed

My parents drove 1980s Volvos for years, and they're renowned for chewing exhausts - Dad was lucky to get two years out of a mild steel setup.

You're probably right on the lifetime though. And I do agree on the tone of stainless - stainless piping tends to be thinner, hence the tinnier sound. You can pay for thicker walled stainless piping, but $$$$.

bought a bunch of paint prep products to prep up my new (second hand) R32 rear spoiler (thanks Oli) and also after waiting three weeks, went to the RTA to pick up my new coloured number plates.

mmmmm black car with black plates and silver writing, loooks the business!
pitty about the $160 a year tho!

I remember a friend got a twin pipe setup on his car at Tuffy (talking over 10 yrs ago) and they used a nibbler tool to cut the plastic bumper to fit the pipe, wonder if the rear valance could be neatly cut to make an outlet on the righthand side.

Might be worth sourcing a spare valance to practice on. Other option might be to just keep it to one outlet on the left for the Stealth-sleeper look. Would it just be a case of blocking up the right outlet on the box?

I'd be keen to go in for a group buy on something like this too... although I've got the standard 4motion valance so want to do something that fits with that without modification...

Cut a small section out of the rear valence and lift up your exhaust dude! Get that cut part tapered back and it will look sweet!

size difference is obvious! although those TT wheels are HEAVIER then the 3piece dpe's!
