I definitely didn't have any of the windows open or anything like that, I had just washed the car, but that couldn't be any different from heavy rain right?!?!

I've had a 'Damp Rid/Closet Camel' in there for a week, and it looks like it's soaked up all of the moisture (I empty it every day), and it hasn't happened again since in all of this rain. So, what could it have been??

Is there any known causes for water leaks in this area on a MK4 Golf??

Please shed any light on this, I really worried it'll happen again!!

Hi mate, I don't have first hand experience but there are a number of threads on uk-mkivs regarding this topic.

    Cheers for the reply Lito,

No, I don't have a sunroof fortunately/unfortunately, maybe I'll check for any loose grommets near the rain tray.. But I haven't touched anything in that area for a very long time... yeah, nothing touched at the back of the engine bay at all for months!! hmmm...

Shoot, sorry, thank to you too PBW, my browser didn't show your post for some weird reason. I'll check those links for sure!!

All good mate, it seems there could be a number of possible reasons (great!)

It's a well-documented problem in the UK with all the rain they have there.

Process of elimination I guess. Good luck!

Coincidently, it could be your heater core dying. Though it would be a fair fluke for that to happen the same day it pours.

Feel like a bit of a kook asking this but can't jack the car up to look:

Replacement fuel filter for a 02 Bora V6 (BDE)?

    ECS tuning have 2 options:
    1) Normal 1 in 1 out: 1J0 201 511 A
    2) fuel pressure regulated with an additional line 6Q0 201 051 J

can anyone point me in the right direction as to the correct filter?
