Let's hope that Pancakes also cleaned his "throttle body" after what he's been up to lately
I found the solution to the bump step down in the floor was a bodyboard.
never had to put it into practice though haha.
Got a new boot for the bora thanks to thestu. 7 years later and I might actually have a nice boot! was going to shave the VW badge but might keep it for now.
also found a negative of putting golf seats in the bora (not sure why its taken me so long to notice)
cant lock the back seats anymore! Might see how hard itll be to pull the handle from another bora set and get the lock matched
Put this on the mk4 yesterday. Volkswagen Golf IV 1.8T Engine Intake ES#1832483 Kona Cold Air Intake Kit - Carbon Fiber - FMIND01
Not sure if I like the sound - I think it sounds a bit tryhard without an exhaust. But noticeable power difference especially if I pull onto the highway in 2nd gear and drive it hard - most difference in power there I have noticed.

I remember paying $50 each (i think) for complete tierods/rackends from ebay. They were TOPRAN OEM.
the seller was this guy... Very quick postage and great communication.
VW Bora Golf NEW Beetle TIE Track ROD END Ball Joint N S Left O S Right Pair | eBay
i cant seem to find the complete rods on his site anymore, wouldn't hurt to email him.
I paid $400 in labour for someone to install new lower control arm bushings, ball joints, tierods and wheel alignment. So that is about 3.5-4 hours of labour.
Tierods on there own should not take 4-5 hours for a mechanic with the right tools.
Thanks dude youve helped confirm it even more I was going to get ripped.
Pedders south melbourne can do the parts for 95 each complete.
1 1/2 hours labour
So including a wheel alginment 443 bucks now that sounds better
