Dunno if ill be able to machine it down... I know my 57.1 to 57.1 centre bore adapters from Adaptec were a different design to all the other Adaptec ones I have...
If u need to borrow some I have them in 15+20mm to suit older 5x112 audis/new vw.
Yours are designed to suit new audis. Where you get them from?

Got them from some dude in the states. Looks like I can machine the lip bit off without a problem but first I'll have to remove the studs which are pressed in.. Also those studs are too long so I'll need to get them replaced anyway. What a headache!

I don't need the centre bore on the outside if the studs are sticking out? It'll just be like any normal car setup.. Are your 15/20mm ones wheel centric?

Good effort and nice photo to show the troublesome cracked solder joint - when mine go I'll be referring back to this.

    Thanks Rolf!

Yeah I can vouch that it DEFINITELY works. Even though you can barely see the imperfections in the solder, they're there. Re-solder all while you have it out anyway, but it's always been the same 2 on each of my doors, and the ones in the tutorials/guides..

These are the guides you need:

MKIV Door Locks, fixing after removal:
VWVortex.com - MKIV door locks explained - why you're having problems!!!

Removing FRONT Door Lock Module, skip window regulators section:
VWVortex.com - DIY - Replacing the front door window regulator clips and/or door lock module

Removing FRONT Door Panel, Handles, Mirrors:
VWVortex.com - DIY - Removing front door parts (door panel, door unlock handle and sideview mirror)

Removing REAR Door Lock module (completely):
How to remove rear lock completly - uk-mkivs

    Removing REAR Door Panel, Handles:
VWVortex.com - DIY - Removing rear door parts (door panel, door unlock handle and rusty triangle window insert)

The main difference I do compared to these guides is that I only let the carrier panel lower/hang out enough to get to the door lock modules, I leave all the wiring & window motors attached to the panel. Much easier & prevents unnecessary work. I also have edited these guides into A4 Word doc for much easier reading & printing out, PM me for a copy.
