Mr Jimmy Mac weaved his magic touch on my brakes and gearbox.
New Martini Racing Fluid has rejuvenated my brakes beautifully and Redline MT90 has sweetened my shifts gotten rid of a slight whine I had.
JMac for the win. :driver:

Picked it up. I now have a mk 4 so can contribute to this thread! :google: Did flapper mod. Put on stubby aerial. Removed ugly dealer stickers. (OMG it was huge and hideous) Cleaned and conditioned seats. Put on new valve caps. Attempted to get finger mark stains out of headlining.
Today i looked at my car.....found a missin vw cap,and stud cover:frown:
Went down the Gold Coast for a swim and fish and chips today. :)
Then came home and vacuumed all the sand out of the the car and then conditioned the seats.
Happy times. :D

Put tape on my passenger window to keep it closed
2nd window reg to fail, will look like a tool all week till I get time to replace on Saturday, another $115 gone.
Just 2 to go now.
Found a little time on Thursday to do a few things and decided to look at the Golf. Wondered about the wheelbase and after several measurements, realised that my wheelbase was out by 18mm
I got it back to within 3mm, and let me tell you I'm petrified. I've got the power back that I've been missing (holy sh!!!!!!!!!t) but the wheel alignment is out obviously.
Curiously, the tie rods do not look like they were put back together properly. I will have to sort this out before sending it off for a wheel alignment.
The institution that used to service my car left a lot to be desired.
What the indeed...
How?
All the weight of the car when driving was moving towards the rear right of the car. When accelerating it was like a dog, unless I was on an left sided slope.
Why ?
People you pay $$$ to work on your car can't do what they have been instructed and paid to do in an orderly fashion. It was just put back together, with little consideration to certain aspect. The car was sent by a particular organisation several times and they couldn't figure out why it would not go straight.
All of a sudden, I'm almost at a point I wanted to be at almost two years ago because I spent a day with equipment to inspect and do the job myself.
Just need to get the tie rods adjusted to ensure I have an even turning circle both ways (now that's another story for another day).
