some people dont have a problem, others do.
Personally, i went to a whiteline sway bar, it cleared the driveshafts but then gave me other problems.
Now run no sway but have problems with the driveshafts touching the body on the drivers side.

Depends how much it rubs to how long itll last, its a horrible noise tho

I didn't get any warning lights so I'm still not sure what the problem was but it seems to be running pretty good now. With the colder weather in Canberra at the moment it takes a bit longer for the ticking to fade but once I drive it for a few kms it's fine.

How do you know if you have a problem?

Mine has settled a little lower after about a month since last adjusting it. The only thing I notice without looking under the car is: that when I have the car on full lock to the right, and reversing, I get this creaking noise like I'm in the hull of a ship, from the front right wheel area.

Do I need to be getting underneath to see what touches? I'm guessing that the best way is up on the gutter?

PS - I'm on FK AK Street Coilovers, stock swaybar, 18" rims and 225/40/18 tyres.
Dark Grey Mk4 Golf, 1.8T GTI conversion, APR stage 1, stock air intake, FMIC, 3" to 2.5" Exhaust, FK AK Street Coils, Black 18" (Avant Garde M310's ?), tinted tails, ...

every FWD mk4 will have it, some people just manage to get more then 40mm drops before it touches.
you will hear it, usually on a tight corner or when the road has some serious fall to one side... something that will make the bar try to twist

Thanks kenbot, I'm very happy with the aristo's. What wheels did you end up going with?

So, is that the sound I'm getting? Do I have to do anything about it?

I ended up buying these bad boys from the states, I couldn't get this shape in a 5x100 stud pattern in Aust. I guess you'd call them BBS Rep's or something..

The black is lost a little, in a perfect world where I had ridiculous amounts of money, I would powdercoat them in a kind of graphite grey so you could see them more.
