keeping up with the porsche trend.
gave mine a quick clean, wax, dry, wax, tyre shine, and polish and tucked them away under cover in storage, hopefully they stay nice and clean to avoid the lips getting too many marks or staining.

also tried to re arrange the shed... just some of the round things keeping it so full.
should have got the other RS, flat5s, bora stockies, and vr6 stockies, vento stockies, and other single wheels in it for a full laugh

that lip is going to cope some abuse if your going to lower it more haha.

swapped my stockies back on as all my other wheels are killing the front guards at 8.5" wide and doing the daily duties at my current height and the country distances i drive... need to get them rolled still, but it wont help the inside clearance where the tyre is touching
also checked out the damage from the section of highway i hit in Traralgon. turns out the road must have been very soft as its now secured/baked to the underside of my mounts and car... also looks like i did hit the sump on it, bit of fresh looking oil to under side but I havnt seem to have lost any and cant see any cracks, so not sure what the go is.
while the road was ridiculous and even saw a cop car bottom out on it while i was there, I wont get far with the car being under the 100mm

    Cool

I just got my new rims! Also, brand new Kumho KU31's all 'round...

Now for the coilovers... I've booked in with the guys over at Camden GTI to get those installed, it's a bit of a trek from the east, but I think it'll be worth it from what I hear... so watch this space...

PS - excuse very basic iPhone photos...

Installed my rear coilovers this afternoon, twice lol. The first time without the perches to see how low it would go, and the second time with the perches for a more permeant daily ride height.

Now to install the front I just need a 21mm offset wrench and 7mm allen key, it's the first time my tiny little tool box has ever let me down

Had some nutbag shoot a ball bearing at my car the other day - at least that's what I think it was.

Was around 10 to 5 on Thursday night and happened as I was waiting to turn left from Port Road into South Road ... Hit the window behind my driver's window with an almighty crack that made me jump in my seat. Left three small marks close together on the window, though didn't crack it ... Thing is my driver's window was down about 20cm so it could have been a lot worse if I'd copped it full in the face. There's an overgrown vacant block of land on the opposite corner with some kind of derelict structure on it so was thinking it might have come from there, but it's anyone's guess - was on the way to pick up new strut top mounts/bearings so didn't have time to check it out further.

im liking it! lowered right thats going to be awesome. I vote colourcoded trims later on. black wheels on that colour look nice!

VWfresh once you have the stock springs out its easy... undo one end of the shock (i normally do bottom), then just stand on the hub and the spring falls out haha. get some pics up

RolfGolf, sounds a bit odd. hopefully not to much damage done.

so after dragging my front lip, subframe, and catalytic converter over the red bluff carpark (FU Parks Victoria)
then drove back to bairnsdale and could hear a rubbing noise... driving up my driveway which cambers both ways i could hear dragging. turns out the plastic tray is torn and hanging in a few points

Once I dropped one side of the shock it's wasn't hard at all.

I spent the morning trying to install the front but couldn't for the life of me undo the top mount. I just couldn't get a strong enough grip on the allen key to stop it from spinning, so after about an hour and a few broken tools later I put it back together FML...
Apart from that it's such an easy job I really don't want to pay someone to do it.

I used an allen inside a socket holding it with all sorts of things and a big ass spanner around the top of the socket.

    Any tips?

I think I used vice grips and another person to undo the top mounts. Much easier with a second set of hands. Also used a really good 7mm Allen key - its about 200mm long with a nice grippy handle
Keep at it. It will move!!

On another note my KW v1 coilovers rocked up yesterday. Gonna see what happens with my wheel plans before fitting.
Question about wheels. If I have 18's will I not need to lower it much as I would have to with 17's to achieve a decent stance? Et31 up front and et 21 in the rear with 7.5" if all goes to plan
Platinum Grey mkV Jetta turbo, Viezu motorsport map, GT-CX 18", lowering to come
