Dcperformance will price match on most coilovers and minus Vat.
    Good luck
Yeah, after I stated it to him and asked formally, he gave me the price minus VAT.

What do people think of these:
FK AK Street Coilover Suspension Kit (MK4 Golf):
FK AK Street Coilover Suspension Kit Golf 4 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 1.8T, 1.9SDi, 1.9TDi, 2.0, 2.3 V5 FWD 01/99> - £170.00 : The premier online mail order VAG suspension and performance specialists. We offer a wide range of all the best branded suspension and

Here's the NEW price, also minus VAT: "It'll be £141.70 plus £125.00."

I wanted to buy last night, but wanted people's opinions first. would there really be much difference between these & the next one/s up, for over double the price?

PS - I only have a 1.6L, non modded, just getting some banging new 18x8's, so was told to lower, and the best way is to get some coilovers...
PPS - The wheels are eating most of my budget already
PPPs - What would the 'ride' be like on these compared to some 50mm drop springs (hopefully 2nd hand)?

    Thanks all!

they will handle better than 50mm lowered springs, because the damper is designed for a lower coil (obviously with coils, the more you dump, the harsher the ride gets without damper adjust. i have the rear nice n low n havent noticed any harshness at all yet).
Youll be disappointed with just doing a spring change, take it from me

^ Awesome price! Where'd you get them if you don't mind me asking? I paid $550 for mine (excluding postage) :/ Still not a bad price for what they are really... I think you'll be very happy with them

The eBay link takes you directly to the homepage, link us to another listing of the same wheels that you haven't brought, if that makes sense?

if you put tinting over the tail lights i believe its illegal.... but if they are smoked lenses and show the right colour it is ok?
Have heard of stock VR6 golfs getting pulled up with there smoked tails because police dont know what they are talking about.

YAY for the suspension and wheels! think those wheels will look good, nice specs and a nice design.
Id come help but its a little far for me.

Rears are easy. fronts you need to make sure you have the right tools/gear to undo the strut top nuts and youll be right. Just need to take your time. Once you do it, you could do the whole car in 2-4hrs if you happened to need to again.

Snagged some 30mm eibach springs for free! tempted to throw them on this weekend but need to drive the car on Wednesday to the coast. Don't really want to throw the springs in then find out I need a swaybar so thinking of holding off for a bit. I know all golfs are different, but anyone had trouble with dropping a mk4 1.6L golf 30mm and the swaybar rubbing? I guess there is only one way to find out...

the general rule is 40mm will need replacement bar or longer end links... but as you said, every car is different. I know of a 2lt bora being on 50mm drop and not having a problem with it.
