What have you done to your mk4 (golf/bora) today?

Tell him to contact me regarding the cams and how much, though the Schrick cams actually reduce the available torque from what I have read?? Maybe it's the head work and port work that have made the motor flow better and given it a kick? I have to be careful though as none of that is allowed to keep it legal for the CAMS tarmac rally M2C2 class that the car is in.

The head and port work isn't really on the radar currently, I'm still working on the drivetrain with the new peloquin diffs and Sachs clutch, pressure plate combo as well as the shorter gearing from 4th to 6th which is what is happening in the next couple of weeks when everything arrives from the USA and Germany.

I will then actually be able use the torque and top gears on the stages where as now I rarely get into let alone out of 4th.

What's the reason for the recommendation not to use it for street applications? Handling not suited to public roads?

The reason, is that it can cause over steer due to the rear axle remaining engaged under braking.

With the stock or blue controller the instant you touch the brakes the rear drive is disengaged where as with the competition (orange) controller drive remains engaged on the rear axle under braking giving you a combined mechanical and frictional stopping force across all four wheels which in turn allows you to brake much later and deeper into corners. It is meant primarily for track / rally / autocross use and is basically a disclaimer to cover their arses. In saying all that there are numerous people using it on street cars in various countries on various Haldex equipped cars with no reports of any severe or unpredictable handling characteristics being seen.

I FINALLY convinced myself to spend some money on the golf, so I went and ordered a whiteline adjustable rear swaybar. Hello lift-off oversteer :driver::driver:

today (well, yesterdy actually) I removed the SNAPPED Neuspeed RSB and put the factory one back in.

I would be interested to know how you go with the peloquin's, an audi tt owner upgraded his front diff to a TBD and he's not sure it's improved the car from the limited time he has had with it. But if you do both, I would imagine it would be different...

Sure I'll be happy to post my thoughts but the car isn't used on the street much so not sure how relevant it will be.

I'd like to know more about the whole processs - do you need to drill holes to fit it ?
What was the investment (cost) and how much better is the ride ?

JustCruisn,

The rear sway makes a huge difference in any FWD car. RRP is around 260 ?? and I don't believe any holes are required to be drilled.
