and sometimes when changing gears while going over bumpy road, i can hear what sounds like the shift fork rattling as it tries to do what it does, not sure hard to explain.
so any ideas? i also more often than not need to baby the first 3 gears
if that is the problem, i wonder how much it'd cost. i've had my clutch replaced recently so am annoyed it wasn't looked at, even though i asked it to be looked at...
I can hightly suggest a gear oil change using Redline! I had some noises but they have since gone and shifts are a lot smoother.

Replaced the tired old shift boot with a new leather one.

Coil Packs arrived from ECS so I replaced the remaining old coil packs with the N revision ones and will keep an old one in the car for a spare

I'm capped currently. I just messaged Graeme actually to see if everyone is ok as I saw the DNF result on the Targa Wrest site. How bad does the damage look?

You can't really tell, it went downhill into a barrier, then jumped along a bit, but I didn't see anything massive falling off. Plus, when switched to the inside view, they are strapped in so tight that they barely moved, were both ok too.

Hopefully it's just a bumper or something..

Marti and I are both fine, thanks for the concern. I'm sure you've all read the details on the tex so I wont bore you with repating them here. The video of the stage and another stage are on our Youtube site with more to be uploaded.

The car is being kindly repaired by Jacksons VW in Launceston with Richard and Mick who work there and look after our service getting them to donate all the labour. We still have to pay for parts and it may be very tight getting there but we are working towards being at the start line at the end of April.

We will be fitting an ABS cut switch like the Procars had so this doesn't happen again but at the end of the day if I had pulled the hand brake it would have disabled the ABS and given me my brakes back so ultimately it was driver fault. Rob is going to post some shots of us competing after this in the Mk IV photography thread they are high res so he is going to post resized ones, if anyone wants hi res let me know.

    Cheers Al
