Will be interesting to see what date they have on them - I know they arent the latest release, but from what I have read they are still the latest revision? Will check the one I just put in from VW

Installed the dieselgeek short shift awhile ago and recently replaced the factory airbox and other plastic related to air intake for an ECS XAS cold air intake (carbon fiber for wank factor) which you can see here:

Could tell for a long time that it wasn't breathing right with the stock air box and when I installed the short shift I found out why: the seal on the right underside of the factory airbox was half torn out. On a side note, does anyone recommend cutting out the passenger side front grill to allow for more air flow? It makes sense but I'm kinda worried about water and other stuff going in.

Isn't it nice when you tell a 'specialist' VW workshop that it's not breathing right two times and then you figure out the problem yourself.

Yep done it myself. Looks no different from the front. I can't see how you would get much water in there.

Started the car for the first time in five weeks on monday. Started first time no worries. Considering the only car I drove in the last five weeks was an Opel Zafira having my baby back is a joy.
