Had my car out for the first time in over a week. God i missed the 'feeling' of the steering and the manual :P
Went and ordered some LED number plate lights and on the search for a H3 LED bulb to stick in my driving light housing

Took my car through the national park with a group of about 15 cars last night, first time i've driven it in anger in a long time, it's been sitting in my garage for a while now with the bmw doing daily duties.
Big brakes were fantastic, I was absolutely hammering them and not a hint of fade/pedal drop - Some squeeling towards the end though. Same again with the engine, just pulling and pulling and felt like it had more power after the run. On the highway leaving, couldn't seperate my car and my mates chipped 2TFSI jetta.
Also realised it doesn't matter the car or mods, the speed of the car is soley dependant on the size of the drivers balls.
so today lost my licence at court and now the golf is off the road and deciding what the next mods will be if any1 can give me any guidence on a good place for engine work on my 2.0L in SE QLD would be great because its time my car had a bit more poke
As fuzion stated, gains will be incredibly poor value unless you move to forced induction. Maybe sell the car and buy a GTI, which has more potential for easy performance increases?
That said, is a faster car the best thing for someone who's just lost their license for street racing (right after Chris died allegedly doing the same thing)?
Wheels arrived!!
Need a polish and some TLC but first mission will be to get some tyres on and adapters fitted up and have everything working.
quite laughable that you even thought you could race the thing, I'd be embarrassed to be in a 2.slow revving its tits off and going nowhere. Even more embarrasing getting it impounded I guess. get a GTI when you can sit at the lights with somone egging you on and not take the bait
You can speed in any car, you can do things stupid in any car regardless of how 'crazy fast' it is.. It evidently true .. lol
SPend the money you have the result, or sell and buy a gti. Otherwise enjoy the car until you get a bit older and upgrade to something a bit more powerful when you have more $$ and experience
This is a good place to start re. tuning the 2.0:

As stated, it's not the ideal platform to start with and gains are more modest than what can be achieved with the 1.8T and the same $.
