didn't you buy them brand new? how come you're sanding/painting them?
Yeah, they are brand spanking, but when I test fitted them to the car, they just didn't suit it being the bright silver. So, now we shall see how they will look when they're a little darker
I think they will look pretty good, offset against the darkness of the tint on my windows it will be a good combo with teh metallic green. After fitment, I will have to give the car a proper detail, it hasn't been done since I moved into my new place without tank water![]()

Same here, mine's an EVOMS V-FLOW with oiled filter element and I've used it now for 3 years (touch wood) without issue. Don't over oil is the key, unfortunately many people don't heed this advice.
Here's the instructions I got from EVOMS with some good advice:
Evolution Motorsports
Filter Cleaning Procedure
Step 1: Remove filter from intake tube and venturi.
Step 2: Using a non-detergent soap in warm water wash the filter (hand soap, Simple Green works great.)
Step 3: Using cold water rinse filter from inside out, as to push all dirt out of the filter.
Step4: If air compressor is available from the inside out lightly blow the water from the filter.
Step5: Regardless of blowing all water needs to be completely removed from the filter before moving on to the next step. The filter will probably need to sit in front of a fan for 3-4 hours.
Step6: Our filters use a 6 gram oil spray process, so to re oil the filter a K&N recharge kit can be used, the oil should be applied only to the outside of the filter in a very light spray.
Step7: Let the filter dry for at least 4 hours before using preferably over night if possible
