Mine has been undergoing a bit of a resurrection.

    So new this year.
Obd11, which has been useful in some respects and not so good for coding due to user skill.
    Headlight lens.
    Cv boot.
New brake pads and flush and bleed.
New spark plugs, because the previous mechanic had over looked them in trying to solve a misfire. Which is now solved.
Front and rear propshaft couplings. Because they weren't gonna pass for RWC. Which also seems to have fixed a traction control dash light issue.
New bumper to fix a scratch and cracked rub bar.
Headrests, because one of mine had burnt up in the sun.
Steering wheel because i found a better condition one.
New tires 225/35/19s. To reduce rubbing on full lock from 235/35/19s.

Next up is front end bushings and shockers or coilovers all found and a haldex service and fuel filter.

    Mostly all DIY too.

Hopefully after all that it doesn't blow up and lasts another 250k lol.

Also now have a second bora with a ****ty diff if anyone is looking for a engine or gearbox lol.

Feel free to delete this post if you like, this is purely informative and I am not advocating illegal equipment.

But if your curious about vagcom, and wanted to give it a try before you buy, you can purchase one of the cables from eBay/aliexpress.

Now these cables are usually hard to get working and run an old ****ty copy of vagcom, 409.1.

Well I came across this cable on Ali baba for $25 and it promised me vagcom 17.1.3. which is the latest version. I thought I would give it a go.

This cable arrived and I can confirm it works perfectly on windows 10 and runs the latest version. I have scan faults, reset my service light and logged measuring blocks. Very impressive.

I just rechecked the listing where I bought mine from and it is now non existent!

Here is a different listing, doesn't look as legit as mine with the fake sticker on it haha. But no doubt the same cable.
