    what brand of fuel?

    Hi every everyone,
I’m just trying to get some feed back, I’ve try shell V Power, Caltex premium and Mobile 8000 premium. I found the mobile fuel is better for my car, run smoother and lighter. Any one has any experience about fuel at all? I don’t know if it’s the fuel it sell or the petrol station is crap and has water on they fuel or what ever?

P.S. I don’t want to make any controversy between any person and any brand of fuel.

Let me know if this conversation in inappropriate, I can take it off

I'm a fan of BP 98 too. The car does seem to run better on it.
    Plus it smells friggin fantastic.

(used to use shell but gave up on that after my car ran terribly for one tank)

I've used vortex 98 for over 3yrs now... so long as it's 98 ron and a reliable source/isn't contaminated... all good.

I know a lot of people swear on BP Ultimate and say that Shell V-Power isn't as good due to additives or something but I've used both and haven't noticed much of a difference between either.

When I first got the car and it was stock (no CAI) I did 39 fill ups of Shell V-Power (pretty much one per week) with an average of 14.78L/100km.

I then swapped to BP Ultimate for 41 fill ups (once again of one per week) with an average of 14.25L/100km (once again don't laugh). In this time I got a CAI installed which I account for the drop in fuel economy more than anything else.

Currently I'm back on the V-Power (10 fill ups) and I have averaged 13.96L/100km. However I've been doing a bit more highway kms this time.

So yeah either way I'm not really noticing anything economy or power wise. Just make sure you stick to '98 RON and the majors and I reckon you'll be right.

    Cheers,
    Trent

Before my flash, v-power just seemed to make my car run the sweetest. The engine sounded and felt smoother, but i don't know how much of that was in my head...Vortex 98 seemed to not feel quite as good, but on long road trips it seemed to get better economy...

After the flash, i haven't really noticed too much difference between them. I'm starting to wonder if you notice the difference more when you're car has less power to begin with...

The car just seems to run smoothest on it. I get pretty bad economy (15L/100km on average lately) no matter which fuel I use, as I do a lot of short trips in traffic. I'll be doing a trip to Canberra soon, that should give me a good long distance average.

i just notice since i put VPower and caltex my car run so rough and no bottom end. but with mobile fuel she gose like a zertec. i dont know but maybe the Vpower and caltex has to many additives and it can effect your lambda sensor as well. i can't realy blame it on fuel, but the mobile fuel... my car humming like a smooth wind. i still want to try the BP i think it;s worth a shot coz i use it on my rotax go kart as well. but i think i will keep away from Vpower and caltex. from my experince.

So far I have found BP98 & Shell98 (VPower) to be best. Dont like Mobil personally and I find it stupid they have 2 types of premium...sometimes the 98 isnt available everywhere.

Here's my results since I've bought the Bora

    BP98
    Average 8.6ltr to 100km over 2,364km

    Shell98
    Average 9ltr to 100km over 1174km

    Mobil98
    8.8ltr to 100km over 595km

Obviously I need to do some more testing on each tank to get my averages fair for comparison - I did some hard driving on the Shell. Having said that I have done some hard driving on the BP and it still seems to give me better economy. Looking at Treza's results I'd expect similair results...the order - BP, Shell, Mobil
