    Weird noise/suspect clutch issue

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anybody's experienced a rattling noise, possibly from the clutch? My clutch is only about 2yrs old, maybe 20k ks, so I'm gonna be annoyed if it's shat itself.

At first I noticed some sort of rotational noise at low speed, then a rattling noise a bit. Now it's gotten louder.

Clutch engages, has no problems up hills, seems to engage completely/doesn't slip, BUT I've now noticed it making the rattling noise going up hills under load... hence primarily suspecting that now.

Sound familiar to anybody? am a bit lost.

    Thanks

I had a similar sound a few years ago on a manual V6 Ford Telstar I owned. It had just had a new clutch fitted, drove all the way from Melbourne back to Nowra South Coast (NSW) nearly 900 k's and suddenly it started with the rotational noise (low speed) and then a rattling noise which got louder and louder until the car came to a sudden halt. I thought it might have been a flywheel bolt come loose but upon a detailed inspection by another mechanic it was obvious that the mechanic who installed the clutch forgot to refill the gearbox with oil, needless to say the gearbox was stuffed. I'm not saying this is your problem but it sounds similar. Might pay you to get the gearbox checked.
