Water splashing noise in the boot?

Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone has had an experience with an unexplained dampness in the spare tyre area. Also on braking or tilting of the car there seems to be a splashing noise as though there is atleast 2 litres of water trapped somewhere in the boot. Any help would be appreciated!

All jokes aside, have you checked if there is 2L of water splashing around down there? You didn't have large quantaties of liquid in your boot at some stage that could have leaked? Rain? Haha, weird :/

Sorry didn't specify. Mine is a '02 Bora 4Motion. I don't have anything in the boot besides the spare wheel and tools. Can't locate where that pool of water is. the carpet is dry. Just the underside is moist. Really starting to frustrate me that I can't the source of leak or water.

    Check the tail lamp assemblies.

Also, check where the tailgate/boot release is. Water can get past there and if the draind are blocked, the water cannot get out.

Yes it has a sunroof but i really doubt that's the culprit. Im suspecting it is the tail light seals. I had s closer look today and the side with the water noise does seem to have a maligned tail light. Taking it to a workshop on sunday.
    Thanks for the input everyone!

The fuel tank/s are back under there and slosh around quite a bit if you have the radio off it is quite noticeable (on the R anyway).
