9.5 et40 is very very aggressive in regards to inner clearance. You may even have rubbing on the spring seat. Nothing an angle grinder won't fix. But with a 235/40 on a 9.5, it will look a bit funny IMO. You should be aiming for a lower offset. You could get away with et30, or even et25.
Remember that my 9.5 et40 has 15mm more tyre sticking out either side.

Inner clearance is my biggest concern hence why I posted questions in this thread. I have 18x9.5 Keskin kt4s with a et30 offset and a 235/40 tyre. Did like the fitament but I got defected for it. I now need something that tucks under the rolled guard. My front wheels are 18x8.5 with et25 and they are a good 1" inside the rear guard and look very average. So I either use ridiculously wide spacers or buy new rims. I choose the latter.
I've been searching for a new set for quite a while and its a struggle to find a 5x100 wheel that pushes out to the edge of the guards with the perfect offset. I seen your car with the et40s and they seem to tuck under.
The miros are deliciously concave and I think they look mint as with some stretch. For 5x100s they only come in 18x8.5 et30 and 18x9.5.
How much is a set of adjustable rear camber arms ?

Thanks for that Dylan. $150 is much cheaper than I thought.
What do you mean by "aggressive fitament" ? I'm very new to "stance" and pushing wheels too/past the guards. Would aggressive mean that it would be very tight fit or the wheels/tyre could rub against the guards or the suspension?
If that's the case then I'm a little perplexed as you said your 9.5" et40 wheels rubbed against a canister on your coils (that I don't have).
Like I said before, I just want my wheels to be inside the guards with lighter tyre stretch because I don't have the time nor do I want to spend the money clearing defects.
The wheels im wanting to buy come in 18x8.5 et35 and 18x9.5 et40.
I'm really struggling to get a picture of how it'll all fit and work.
Can I make them work to suit my needs?
I test fitted my front keslin kt4 18x8.5 et30 rim to the back and it was very far from in the guard so the wheel and looked very average. If I was to fit the 18x8.5 et35 variety to the back, what thickness spacers would I need to use to push the wheel out?
Tyre wise, as much as id like too, I can't go 215mm because no 18" 215mm tyre has a high enough load rating of 91 or more (boras load rating).
Do appreciate the help - thanks.

Why do you want to stretch Tyres onto wheels that will sit inside the guards?
Not trying to be rude, but if you aren't willing to use spacers, or don't fully understand offsets, I would go for a wheel that isn't so aggressive. If it doesn't hit on the suspension or inner guard, it will only be mm's away. Will need to consider spacers though.
I quite like the stretch look. Prefer it over bulging sidewalls. But at the same time, annoyingly, I don't like having too much of the rim exposed past the guard.
I do understand offsets to a degree, but not sure how they apply on the 4mos with clearance. The wheels I want (Miro Type111) only come in 18x8.5" ET35 & 18x9.5" ET40 so I assumed I'd need the 9.5" for the back due to the extra clearance. I've not found many Bora 4mos on the internet with such a setup because most seem to be about "stance" than anything else.
I'm warming to the idea of spacers, but I'd probably like something thin for safety purposes. I do track my cars so I need something that holds up to a bit of pressure. My concern is that the spacers could do damage to the diff/hub/bearing or worse if they actually fail.
This is the kind of fitament I'm looking for:
By the sounds of it, you're not confident that a ET40 18x9.5 will achieve this?

^^ wow I likes the rear but not the front.
MK4 GTI - Sold
MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.
Yeah love the rear fitament! I'm planning to buy those wheels in Matt black to suit my black Bora
Front would be better with a small spacer and maybe a little bit higher. Could do with a wider tyre as well imho.
Does anyone know if the MKIV R32 has similar rear suspension setup to the Bora 4mo's?
This is a R32 with a 18x9.5" Miro 111 wheel and a 15mm spacer.

If you look at it from the front, I don't think it looks bad.
This guy has used a 18x9.5" wheel on the back with an offset +35. A 5mm spacer should help me achieve that?
I'm guessing being a non-4wd Golf the back end probably has more space than a Bora 4mo?
