That price is at the high end mate. I just bought an 01 gti with 74000kms for the same privately.

The water pump went the week after all replaced an haven't had a problem since!

Oh except a leak into the car that I fixed. Awesome car but be very thorough with checking of the maintenance. I'd also check things under the car like bushings and mounts. If you have a reliable mechanic that is happy to look or a charge I'd do it. Even racq can come to the dealer.

So I went down with Scooter yesterday and left with his first ever VW. The car is in great shape, apart from a melt spot on the cover on the passenger side where the wiring loom goes into the car. I opened it up and can't see what caused it but the loom and coating is intAct and normal.

So Scooter my good friend enjoy the driving and keep your wife out of it. Never know she might change her mind about a swift and want a new gti like I am getting shortly lol.

    Hey JustCruisin.
I actaully bought it! I fell in love and couldn't resist ha ha! It's in great condition considering the age. The engine bay was very good and interior was well looked after. Aparently one owner. Came with an upgraded ****ty sound system.
If that offer for a ride in a chipped car is still available though, would love to take you up on that! What is your FB or MSN? I live in the older part of Springfield. Maybe you can show me a few things. I have 3 weeks off at the moment.

Well Done, I recently purchased my first Mk4, a 2002 GTi with Similar Kms, paid around the same price. I love the ride. Enjoy.

@Scooter, congratulations with the purchase! If you want it scanning for faults, send me a PM and I'll hook you up.

    Cheers

    Gavin
