Get on it ASAP mate, last thing you want to happen is the timing chain to stretch and slip teeth or worst case scenario the chain gives way...

So I went to the European car center to get the noise checked .. it certainly is the timing chain .. and they quoted me 3.5 k to do it .. which I think is a ridiculous price ..

Fark bit more than what I expected them to say. Still cheaper than the 5k some popular Sydney shops want.

If you feel up to it. I will give you a hand

WOW... 3.5k is quite a bit of money, Sounds like its a prick of a job but.
There is a guy at the top of Lake road near Darbys pies that does a heap of work on air cooled dubs, He might do water cooled aswell.

Penfold ? isn't that the guy that killed Hayden's old engine ?

Hayden , i dont think it's too horrible of a job . . i just need a place to work and someone who has ripped a gearbox off before .. as for the work its self .. i dont think it would be too hard as long as we keep the correct timing ..

If it is the guy that did Hayden's, scrap that idea. I was not aware that's where he took it. I'm sure between all of us up hear in Newi we could tackle it.

Negative. Lake road guy is an old school legend. Or so says my pop haha.

Penfolds is the place that did mine but they are in Georgetown.

Probably ecs and places of the sort. Even eBay have kits. Not sure on their quality
